Cosmic Birthday!
Design is like stardust. It's everywhere, but not everyone notices it.
Space dust comes in various forms: it can be intergalactic, interstellar, circumplanetary or a zodiacal
cloud. It was once a vexation to astronomers, since it gets in the way of objects they'd like to
observe. Today we know that particles of cosmic dust are significant components of astrophysical
processes. 10 years ago in Cieszyn design seemed to be an idea straight out of space. The handful of
years the Cieszyn Castle has been in existence show how it's worth collaborating with designers in
constantly new and different ways. The Castle's 6th birthday is the best opportunity to see how
Polish design and its constellations are changing:
* Stardust. An exhibition which shows that design is invisible but is everywhere. That's why you'll see
stardust all around the Castle.
The Milky Way of The Best Diploma Designs 2009/10, with a Polish-Czech-Slovakian dimension;
*the rising stars of Polish design in the exhibition The Spirit of Poland;
*Show. Explain. Lead – an exhibition showcasing the work of Prof. Krzysztof Lenk's students. He 's our
Northern Star: he points the way!
*the Solar System as created by Faces of Polish Design, and finally:
*a forgotten, masterly constellation from Cieszyn, i.e. Przyboś – Kobro – Strzemiński in the volume
